SHIPPING COSTS

  • FOR UNITED STATES DELIVERY ADDRESSES:

You can see the shipping cost for your order at any time by clicking the shopping basket's "View Cart" button on any page, and then selecting the shipping service that you want. After the shipping cost is displayed, you can continue checking-out, continue to shop, remove items from your basket, or just stop. - You have not placed an order at that point.

    Media Mail

Insured Media Mail shipping for packages weighing less than four pounds is $4.00. Each additional pound or fraction of a pound over four pounds is $0.40 (forty cents).
    Priority Mail
Insured Priority Mail shipping for packages weighing less than four pounds is $9.45. Each additional pound or fraction of a pound over four pounds is $1.50
This increase in shipping rates is intended to pay for only the actual costs of quality packaging materials, plus actual postage. Insurance is included at no additional charge to the customer.

  • SHIPPING TO ADDRESSES OUTSIDE OF THE UNITED STATES:

The cost of shipping to addresses outside of the U.S.A. varies by country. For a firm quote of the exact cost of shipping books to your location outside of the United States, please email me.

The U.S.A. Postal Service increased international destination postage rates dramatically during 2007, and again on May 12, 2008.

Currently I have three primary options for mailing most books to foreign destinations. Delivery time for all three is quoted by the U.S. Postal Service as in about 6 to 10 days, for most countries.

    • Quite often (including most octavos), the book will fit (with appropriate packaging & padding) in the "flat-rate envelope" which costs me US$11.35 postage to almost all destinations, worldwide. I will discount that to US$10 for customers.
One example would be the Easton Press edition of Treasure Island, which I can ship to the U.K. for US$10.
    • When the book is too large for the flat-rate envelope, as it often is, I may be able to ship it using the regular "flat-rate box". The regular "flat-rate box" is large enough so that very often it is possible to include another book in the same box, at no additional postage cost. There are two sizes of the regular flat-rate box. One measures 11 inches X 8 1/2 inches X 5 1/2 inches. And the other measures 11 7/8 inches x 3 3/8 inches x 13 5/8 inches.

The postage cost for shipping the "flat-rate box" to the U.K. is $37.00. I will discount that to $33.00 for my U.K. customers, and provide a similar discount for shipping to other countries.

As an example, the Franklin Library signed leather edition of The Coming Fury by Bruce Catton is too thick for the "flat-rate envelope". But it will easily fit in the "flat-rate box", with room to spare for one more book at no additional shipping cost.

A "large flat-rate box" is also available, which costs $47.00 to ship to the U.K. It measures 12 inches x 12 inches x 6 inches. I will discount that to $43.00.

    • The third alternative, which applies to larger books (and multiple books) that won't fit in the Flat Rate Box, is the standard Priority Mail International postage rate. - Please inquire for a shipping quote, if the books you are ordering fall in that category.

A couple of examples of such shipments include:

      1. An order for six LEC books plus one Easton Press book shipped to Denmark at $106 actual postage cost, which I discounted to $75 for the customer.

      2. An order for a five volume mix of LEC, Easton Press & Franklin Library books shipped to Ireland at $87 actual postage cost, which I discounted to $60 for the customer.

Similar discounts are available for other countries as well.

We also offer, at your option and at cost, Express Mail shipping. Other options are available upon request.

If you would like an exact quote for the cost of shipping books to your location outside of the United States, please email me.

  • Customs: You may have to pay customs or other import taxes on your imported purchase, before taking delivery. However, you may want to check the applicable laws and regulations for your country before ordering, if you are concerned about any such fees.

  • We regularly ship to the British Isles, Europe, Japan, Hong Kong, Australia, etc. If you would like to inquire whether we can ship to your country, please email me.
